Gene Mulroy is a founding principal at Open Door Media (ODM). He has more than two decades of experience in managing and developing public relations and public affairs campaigns for clients on a host of public issues. Gene specializes in building and activating third-party advocate networks as well as managing media and community relations programs.
Gene was formerly a political commentator NJBiz, where he reported on legislative matters affecting the New Jersey’s business community. He was also named to Business News New Jersey’s “Who’s Who” list of the most influential business people in New Jersey and awarded its distinguished “Forty Top Business Leaders Under the Age of 40.”
Gene was a graduate Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, Rutgers University, where he earned a MA in political science with a professional concentration in public policy. He also holds a BA in political science from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
Gerry Gibbs is a highly respected figure in public service with over a decade of legislative, policy and political experience at the local, state and federal level. Gerry’s areas of focus are business development and financial services where he utilizes his extensive networks and expertise on behalf of his clients.
He was a presidential appointee in the Clinton Administration, serving in the U.S. Department of Labor in the Secretary’s public affairs office where he was responsible for preparation of briefing materials for use by department officials; and in the U.S. Department of Commerce where he was responsible for the advance planning for all logistic arrangements for domestic and international travel for the Secretary of Commerce.
Prior to founding Open Door Media and its affiliate, Capital Impact Group, Gerry held high-level positions at the New Jersey Department of Treasury, serving as Assistant State Treasurer and Director of the Legislative Affairs Unit which assists and oversees the annual budget process. Working with Republicans and Democrats alike, the legislative unit also handled legislator’s constituent requests. While at Treasury, he helped implement the State Alternative Investment Program which invested a portion of the State’s $70 billion pension portfolio to outside money managers and oversaw the Division of Public Finance, Pensions and Investments.
He has extensive political campaign experience serving as senior adviser to legislative and gubernatorial candidates, political director in New Jersey for the presidential campaign of Al Gore, and national advance staff member for President William J. Clinton’s re-election campaign.
Gerry started his professional career as a legislative assistant for Congressman Donald M. Payne for four years. He founded the New Generation Leadership PAC, a bipartisan organization which raised money for and supported progressive congressional candidates.
A graduate of Howard University with a BA in Political Science, Gerry also holds Series 7 and 63 securities licenses and is a founding principal at Open Door Media.
Tony Bianchini has more than 20 years of experience in public affairs, public relations, corporate communications, public policy, government relations, social/digital media, advocacy, external affairs, media relations, crisis management, marketing, investor relations and community relations with Fortune 500 corporations, public utilities, government institutions, unions, newspapers/websites and public relations/affairs agencies.
Formerly, Tony was the Director of Communications at the New Jersey Schools Development Authority, which is responsible for building state of the art schools in 31 SDA districts and more than 500 Regular Operating Districts across the State of New Jersey.
Prior to that, he was the Director of Communications with the Northeast Regional Council of Carpenters, the union representative for more than 40,000 carpenters in NJ, NY, PA, DE and Md. In this position, he was responsible for the strategic development all communications, marketing and advertising efforts to promote union membership and raise awareness for various worker rights issues on the East Coast.
Tony’s previous career experience includes PR/communications/crisis expertise with clients in the public utility (electric, gas, water), government, technology, engineering, environmental and global trade industries. Throughout Tony’s career, he has provided corporate communications, public affairs and crisis management services to some of the most major utility companies on the East Coast, including Jersey Central Power & Light, New Jersey Natural Gas, PSE&G, PECO Energy, PPL Electric Utilities and South Jersey Gas.
Tony has his B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park and is proud to have interned at both The White House and U.S. Naval Academy while he was a junior in college.
